Ukhrul, July 2 | EKHON: The Eastern Command of the Naga Village Guard issued a directive ordering all individuals, groups, and organizations under its jurisdiction to strictly comply with the Tangkhul Naga Long’s declaration of severing civic and economic ties with the Kuki community.
According to the directive on Thursday, the order follows the Tangkhul Naga Long’s declaration issued on February 25, 2026, and states that anyone found violating the boycott would face a “dire consequences,” effective immediately.
The directive further alleges that certain individuals from both the Naga and non-Naga communities have been collaborating with Kukis in areas falling under Ukhrul, Kamjong, and Saikul. It states that such actions will no longer be tolerated and warns that punitive measures will be initiated against anyone found defying the boycott order.
Issued by the Commander, Eastern Command, Naga Village Guard, the statement calls for “strict compliance” from all concerned individuals, groups, and organizations. The directive comes amid continuing ethnic tensions between Naga and Kuki communities.
