EKHON | UKHRUL: The NSS Unit 1 of St. Joseph College, Ukhrul conducted a social work at the Ukhrul District Hospital as a part of the ongoing Swacchata Hi Seva Campaign. The campaign, which emphasizes cleanliness and community service, saw the participation of 80 dedicated volunteers, led by Masopam Kasar, Program Officer (PO).
Under the guidance and supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Ukhrul, the volunteers carried out extensive cleaning of the hospital premises, including drainages and nullahs surrounding the facility. Their efforts not only contributed to maintaining sanitation and hygiene at the hospital but also raise awareness about hygienic public spaces in the town.
The Medical Superintendent (MS) of the District Hospital appreciated the volunteers’ contributions and generously provided refreshments to the team. The initiative signifies collaborative effort of educational institutions and healthcare facilities in promoting community welfare.
The Swacchata Hi Seva Campaign has been running since 17th September. The campaign which will close on 2nd October 2024, commemorates the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi envisioning a clean India.
