Ukhrul: With an aim to cultivate culture of confidence and ethos of competitions in students, Edu Fest, State Level Inter-School Championship is slated to be held from 12th-14th October, 2023 at Jubilee Hall, Kamphasom, Ukhrul district headquarters. District Administration, Ukhrul and North East Foundation for Education & Culture (NEFEC) are jointly organizing the educational festival.
Highlighting the detail of the festival, Secretary of NEFEC, AC Tamyo told press here in Ukhrul that, “The Edu Fest aspires to provide a myriad of opportunities for students; a platform to demonstrate their talent and creativity, a stepping-stone to achieving greater things in life apart from promoting a fair competitive environment amongst the students of the state.”
Intended for students studying in class III – XII (Government/Private) of the state, the Festival will see various individual/group competitions like, Quiz, Spelling Bee (3 categories), Painting (3 categories), Singing items (Acapella), My Dream (Futurological Project), Mime, Extempore Speech and Cultural Show.
Registration forms will be made available from the 7th of September 2023 onward and the last date of submission for participants of the list/registration form is being fixed on the 26th of September 2023. While the preliminary/audition will be held on 7th October at NEFEC office. Students and head of institutions can obtain the prescribed registration form and details from NEFEC Resource Centre, Kamphasom, informed AC Tamyo.
Considering the political, social and economic conditions of Manipur, NEFEC firmly believed that a consistent commitment to nurture the children by providing and encouraging them to think beyond the problem is the only solution to bring changes in the society, he further stated.
The festival also plans to help bridge the gap and help in integrating the state with the mainstream India in due course of time.Incepted in 2015, NEFEC has since organized the Festival for last five years with 16285 students from over 60 schools reportedly taken part in the competitions.
The project has been instilling competitive ethos amongst and also brought about a culture of confidence amongst the student community of the state, AC Tamyo further stated.
The competitions will have cash prizes ranging from 10,000 to 3000 and winning certificates.
NEFEC is a voluntary organization working for the upliftment of students and welfare for students capacitation at various levels to excel in their studies.
