Sword Vashum Joins Day 2 of College Week at St. Joseph College Ukhrul

EKHON|UKHRUL: The vibrant atmosphere of College Week at St. Joseph College Ukhrul continued into its second day with a series of dynamic events and festivities. The highlight of the day was the presence of Sword Vashum, the President of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Fr. Dr. Parvis John welcomed the Chief Guest, presenting a memento, and urged students to follow Sword Vashum’s exemplary path saying that despite limited resources in 1970s, Vashum achieved greatness. Dr. John encouraged students to pursue higher studies, excel, and build upon their college foundation.

Sword Vashum delivered an inspiring address, praising the students for their enthusiastic participation and commending the college for cultivating a vibrant atmosphere of unity, creativity, and constructive competition. He also encouraged the students to maintain their academic rigor while exploring extracurricular activities that shape well-rounded individuals.

The day was packed with inter-departmental competitions, including debates, dance performances, and quiz, all of which were met with enthusiasm by both participants and spectators. The highlight of the day was the poetry competition, where students presented their original works on themes of identity, nature, and culture.

Vice Principal Fr. Joseph Thohrii expressed gratitude for the presence of the TNL President and reiterated the college’s commitment to nurturing the talents and skills of its students.

With College Week in full stride, the campus buzzes with anticipation. Students and staff look forward to the days ahead, promising more thrilling events, unforgettable moments, and chances to showcase their talents and forge lasting connections.
