Ukhrul, Sept 12 | EKHON: Shimreingam Kasar of Nungshong Khullen has been unanimously re-elected as the President of the Veikhang Katamnao Long (VKL) for the tenure 2026–2029.
The election was held during the VKL Assembly convened at Choithar on September 12, 2026. Members of the House unanimously endorsed Kasar for another term, reflecting their continued confidence in his leadership and commitment to the organisation.
During the same Assembly, Leishisem AC of Khangkhui Phungdhar was elected as the Assembly Speaker, while Tennyson Raikhan of S. Lungreiphung village was elected as the Assembly Secretary of the Veikhang Katamnao Long.
The newly elected office-bearers are expected to lead the organisation during the 2026–2029 tenure and work towards strengthening the VKL and promoting the interests and welfare of its members.
The Assembly concluded with members extending their best wishes to the newly elected office-bearers and expressing hope for a productive and successful tenure.
