Ukhrul, Sept 22 | EKHON: Students of Ukhrul Public School turned to art to raise awareness about wildlife conservation as the Environmental Force at Grass Root Level (ENFOGAL) organised a painting competition on Chinese Pangolin conservation for the school’s ENFOGAL Squad.
The initiative sought to deepen students’ understanding of the Chinese Pangolin, its ecological significance and the need for community participation in protecting the threatened species.
Fedelia R. Shimray of Class VIII won the first position, while Mathunmi Pheirim of Class X and Chirmipem Yangya of Class IX secured the second and third positions, respectively.

The competition was organised with support from GreenHub and Royal Enfield under the project “Community-Led Conservation of Chinese Pangolin in Manipur.”
ENFOGAL said school-based activities such as the competition are aimed at engaging young people in conservation and encouraging them to become ambassadors for threatened wildlife in their communities.
