Date:

Ukhrul | EKHON: Changvei FC has distributed jerseys to trainees enrolled in its Free Football Coaching Programme for school students. The free coaching programme began last September 6, 2025. The initiative aims to provide structured football training at no cost while encouraging the overall development of young learners.

The programme currently has 21 trainees in the 8–17 age group, from several schools in Ukhrul district including Sacred Geart High School (SHSS), Oriental School, St. George School, Maringmi School, Central School, and Public School. Training sessions are conducted regularly after school hours from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM every week.

According to coach Thotmungthan Hungshi, the programme has already shown promising signs, with many young participants displaying strong football potential. He also appreciated the encouragement and support extended by parents toward the children’s sporting activities.

The coaching programme is led by trainers Thotmungthan Hungshi and Frank Hungshi, who focus not only on football skills but also on discipline, teamwork, and confidence-building among the trainees.

Speaking during the jersey distribution programme, Hungmathot, President of Changvei FC, encouraged the trainees to train with dedication and discipline. He reminded them to respect the jersey they wear and to remain mindful of their academic performance alongside sports activities.

The objective of the programme Changvei FC said is to create opportunities for students to improve their athletic abilities while nurturing sportsmanship and personal growth. The club hopes the initiative will help students excel both in academics and extracurricular activities.

The coaching sessions are held at Bakshi Mini Stadium, Hungpung, where Changvei FC also act as assistant in maintaining the facility. The club has successfully curbed illegal parking inside the ground premises, contributing to the preservation and proper upkeep of the football field.
