Enfogal Train Students on Solid Waste Management in Ukhrul

Date:

EKHON | January 27, 2025: Enfogal and St. Joseph College collaborated to address solid waste management in Ukhrul district. Enfogal, in partnership with the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur, organized a training program for Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) students of St. Joseph College on Monday.

The program aimed to conduct a comprehensive survey across 31 localities in the Ukhrul district to estimate the quality and quantity of solid waste generated.

The initiative focused on diverting recyclable waste into monetary value, thereby reducing the environmental impact of solid waste.

A total of 35 students were trained to carry out the survey, emphasizing the importance of accurate data collection and its role in creating awareness.

The survey will provide insights into the per capita solid waste generation in the Ukhrul district and support future interventions for sustainable waste management practices.
