Naga areas should not be touched: Naga MLAs to Amit Shah

Date:

Dimapur, 9 June, 2023: In the event of any arrangement for separate administration “our Naga areas should not be touched because that has been in contention for many years”, Naga MLAs told Union Home Minister Amit Shah when they met on June 7 in New Delhi.

In a press conference held in Dimapur, ten Naga legislators from different parties, Khashim Vashum, Leishiyo Keishing, Awangbow Newmai, Ram Muivah and Losii Dikho gave an overview of the meeting with Amit Shah.

They strongly convey to the HM that in any event of arrangement, Naga areas should not be touched because that has been in contention for many years.

Furthermore, prior to any arrangement made by the Government, Nagas should be consulted properly. They made known to the Home Minister that the “arrangement will come as per the peace process that is going on between the Nagas and the Government of India.”
