Polling in Ukhrul peaceful with minor disruption in 3 stations

EKHON | UKHRUL: The 2nd phase of polling in Ukhrul District, namely 44 – Ukhrul (ST) AC and 45 – Chingai (ST) AC has reportedly casted their votes with the overall percentage of 67.7%.

While the voting concluded peacefully in most of the polling stations in the 145 polling stations, the EVM’s and polling materials for three polling stations including, 44/2 Ukhrul (D-1) Greenland Primary School having a total voters of 911 and 44/50 Ukhrul F, K.K. Leishiphanit Junior School with 639 voters and 44/36 Ukhrul, Model High School with 811 voters was reportedly damaged.

According to the police report around 70-80 unknown miscreants entered the polling station forcefully at around 3:00-4:00 pm and destroyed the polling materials of these stations. Further information’s are awaited. Polling personnel for most of the assembly segment completed.
