New Delhi, February 7, 2025: Easternlight Zimik, a renowned Tangkhul designer from Manipur, is showcasing his indigenous fashion sense at the India Art Fair in New Delhi. His Kashan creation is part of the “Indigenous Fashion Futures: A Living Archive” exhibition, curated by Sreyansi Singh and presented in association with the Fashion Design Council of India.
The exhibition, on view from February 2 to 9, features a groundbreaking collection of indigenous fashion identities from India, with a focus on contemporary design. Easternlight Zimik’s designs are drawing curiosity and admiration from visitors, sparking interest in the unique craft of Kashan.
The designer is optimistic about the growing recognition of indigenous fashion and its potential to reach a wider audience. “I hope to see more Kashan designs across the country and inspire more creatives to explore this craft,” he says.

Easternlight Zimik’s participation in the exhibition is a significant milestone, and he is grateful for the opportunity to showcase his work on a national platform. His future plans include consistently promoting and developing the “Made in Ukhrul” tag, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of his native Manipur.
