Ukhrul, October 2025: The 8th Education Festival 2025 has started in Ukhrul on Wednesday with Deputy Commissioner Asish Das, IAS, inaugurating the event at Jubilee Hall, UBC. This three-day festival, organized by the District Administration and North East Foundation for Education and Culture (NEFEC), features various competitions and events, including academic, cultural, and sports activities.

This transformative initiative aims to foster participative and sustainable development, addressing Ukhrul’s challenges and rewriting its destiny. Das invited all stakeholders to join, emphasizing the model’s need to overcome existing hurdles and drive progress.
Yuimi Vashum, Jt Secretary, NEFAC, emphasized the festival’s role in inspiring curiosity, creativity, and courage in students. “Let this festival remind you that learning is not confined to the classroom; it lives in every experiment, every performance, and every question you dare to ask,” she stated in his welcome remark.
The Festival Vashum said, celebrates the holistic development of students, emphasizing that education goes beyond academics. It’s about discovering one’s potential and exploring talents.
Pasei’s book display has drawn interest, with students browsing and buying books. Mashun Khangrah notes this enthusiasm for reading is a promising sign for future academic pursuits, indicating a bright outlook for students’ educational journeys.
The Education Festival is a flagship state-level initiative celebrating learning and reimagining education’s future through innovation, inclusion, and inspiration. It provides a platform for students to showcase talent, creativity, and skills, promoting fair competition and holistic growth.
The three-day event will feature a wide range of competitions and programs tailored to accommodate varied interests and talents including Quiz, Creative Writing, Spelling Bee, Robotic Engineering, Extempore Speech, Painting, Acapella, Cultural Dance Showcase, Choreography, and a Mini Marathon for boys and girls.
