Ukhrul, November 10, 2025 — The Wilders Club from Ukhrul district is all set to take part in the 25th State Senior Basketball Championship 2025, organized by the Manipur Basketball Association. The championship will be held from November 10 to 16, 2025, and promises an exciting week of high-level basketball action featuring top teams from across the state.
The team has been undergoing training sessions at the Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School Basketball Court to fine-tuned their coordination, teamwork, and strategy ahead of the prestigious state event.
Before the team’s departure, Fr. Michael, Principal of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, offered a special grace and blessing for victory. Addressing the players, he encouraged them to uphold sportsmanship and unity, saying, “Whether you win or lose, come back with a positive spirit.” His words of encouragement lifted the morale of the entire squad as they prepared to represent Ukhrul on the state stage.

Led by Captain Mungmax Kasomhung, the Wilders Club lineup includes Prince Sareo, Zanmei Sareo, Chinaoshang Kasomhung, Ringphapam Kasar, Lumi, Wungshungmi, Mathunmi, and Ngaranso. The team is managed by Chitheimi Kasar and coached by Ngachonmi Thingshung.
Both the manager and the coach expressed confidence in their players’ readiness and determination to perform at their best.
The Wilders Club’s schedule for the group stage is as follows:
November 10, 2025: Wilders Club vs Youth Club — 6:00 PM
November 11, 2025: Wilders Club vs NSU — 5:00 PM
November 12, 2025: Wilders Club vs ESU — 4:00 PM
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Captain Mungmax Kasomhung said, “We’re proud to represent Ukhrul and are ready to give our best. This championship is not just about competition but also about showcasing unity and the growing basketball culture in our district.”
Captain Mungmax Kasomhung is a certified Basketball Coach from the prestigious Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NS NIS) in Patiala, affiliated with the Sports Authority of India. He successfully completed a six-month training program and received his certification earlier this June.
