UKHRUL, Jul 5 | EKHON: The Draft Photo Electoral Roll, 2026 for 44-Ukhrul (ST) and 45-Chingai (ST) Assembly Constituencies was published on Sunday under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), 2026, with July 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.
The publication was announced during a briefing convened by P. Duna Duo, MCS, Additional District Magistrate, Jessami and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), 45-Chingai (ST) Assembly Constituency, at the Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul. The briefing was attended by representatives of recognized national and regional political parties, District Election Office officials and Booth Level Officers (BLOs)
According to officials, a total of 97,571 Enumeration Forms (EFs) were distributed to electors through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across 141 polling stations under the two Assembly Constituencies. Out of these, 87,521 forms have been digitized, covering 42,992 male and 44,529 female electors.
However, 10,050 Enumeration Forms could not be collected. Official figures show that 5,915 electors had permanently shifted, 1,970 were absent or untraceable, 1,436 were reported deceased, 702 were identified as duplicate entries, while 27 cases fell under other categories.

The period for filing claims and objections will begin from July 5 to August 4, 2026, while their disposal will be undertaken between July 5 and September 2, 2026. The Final Electoral Roll is scheduled to be published on September 6, 2026.
Officials said electors who were unable to submit Form EF during the Enumeration Phase can file Form-6 along with the required Declaration Form during the claims and objections window to get their names included.
In the briefing, P. Duna Duo urged all eligible citizens whose names have been left out of the draft roll to submit their claims within the stipulated period. “From today until August 4, anyone who has been left out or failed to enrol in the draft electoral roll should do so without fail. This is a very important document,” he said.
Duo also appreciated the efforts of the Booth Level Officers for achieving 100 per cent distribution of Enumeration Forms across the district. He said the Election Commission of India has also approved the creation of five new polling stations under the district following the rationalisation exercise, three in 44-Ukhrul (ST) Assembly Constituency and two in 45-Chingai (ST) Assembly Constituency.
Appealing for greater public participation, he said many people, particularly in remote villages, may still be unaware of the enrolment process. He called upon village authorities, youth organisations and community leaders to help spread awareness on the importance of electoral registration so that every eligible citizen is enrolled.
A dedicated Help Desk has been established at Room No. 115, Ground Floor, Office of the DEO/DC, Ukhrul, while the toll-free Voter Helpline 1950 has been made operational to assist electors, especially Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), senior citizens, migrant voters and others requiring assistance during the Special Intensive Revision.
Booth Level Officer Masowon Shaiza also appealed to political parties for greater public awareness and cooperation during the Special Intensive Revision. He appealed to political party workers to actively educate voters about the enrolment process and encourage eligible citizens to participate.
Hormiton Khodang, Election Officer, highlighted the importance of the Electoral Card beyond voting and urged all eligible citizens aged 18 years and above to enrol during the ongoing claims and objections period. She said timely enrolment would enable them to vote and serve as an important identity document for various official purposes.
While, a political party representative Elstone cited the case of a young woman whose passport application was delayed because she did not have a voter card, stressing the need for eligible citizens to enrol well in advance.
