EKHON | UKHRUL: Minister of Transport, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Khashim Vashum strongly urges the public not to utilize the student community at the frontline for demonstration or agitation purposes. He was inaugurating the 6th state level Education Festival (EduFest) 2023 at UBC Jubilee hall, Kamphasom Ukhrul.
Leave education free from other interference, so that students can learn and acquire their knowledge without any hindrances in a pleasant atmosphere, he further asserted.
Seeing the overwhelming response of students for the education festival, the Minister expressed his satisfaction to the organisers, North East Foundation for Education & Culture (NEFEC) and District Administration.
To inspire the students, Khashim shared his humble background saying he received his education from the village primary school and adding that “hardwork and obedience to teachers are the key to success in life.”
Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Zuringla Kengoo who is the chairman of Edufest 2023 said organizing the three-day festival is to create a common platform to explore the talents and nurture it and to provide avenue to express their dreams, and make them realise their dream for a better world.
She further appealed to all the students to actively participate in all the competition events saying, this will inspire you to become what you want to be tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Ukhrul MLA Ramnganing Muivah who also attended the inaugural session shared words of wisdom to the students. “Never react with your emotion” but communicate your feeling for solution”, he said. There is no substitute for hardwork, one will be rewarded for every good deed, the legislator added
The three-day education festival will witness myriad literary competitions like Extempore speech, Painting, Spelling Bee, Quiz, My Dream, Cultural show, Mime and Acapella. Altogether 23 schools and over 523 students is set to compete in eight different categories.
The inauguration function was attended by SP, Ukhrul Ningshem Vashum, CEO, Ukhrul David Kashungnao, ADC Nimri Khamrang, ZEO, school principals and teachers.
