Eight awarded under First Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Awards 2023

EKHON | UKHRUL: Entrepreneurship is key to social transformation and bringing economic development in the society, stated Ukhrul MLA while he distributed the first Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Awards 2023 Tuesday at Vangayan, Shirui Village Ukhrul District.

The MLA said the objective of starting the Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Award for youths of Ukhrul district is to encourage and support while venturing into business. For a successful entrepreneur the sky is the limit, and through them employment are generated richly boasting local economy, he further added.

The new Award initiative will continue as part of financial support and encouragement for the young Tangkhul entrepreneur. Stating the ground reality, Ram said Tangkhul youths are one of the most educated tribes of Manipur, but lack of support and encouragement to venture into business has failed many in entrepreneurial venture. He is positive that Ram Muivah Entrepreneurship Awards will definitely boast and change our youth mindset toward more enterprising.

Perhaps this timely encouragement is the need of the hour to address the current economic conditions and bring further development.

The first Ram Muivah Entrepreneurial Award was awarded to eight persons under 44 Ukhrul Assembly constituency carrying cash prize of Rs 30,000 each along with certificates in various categories including, Honey Mission, Fishery Mission, Piggery Mission, Poultry Mission, Cattle/Diary Farming, High-Value Fruits Farming mission and Most Innovative Entrepreneurship. The winners are, Ningon Longpinao’s Ningon Bee Farm for the Honey Mission (Best Beekeeping Award), Jonah Woleng’s JR Woleng Enterprise for Mushroom Mission (Best Mushroom Farming), Reisangpemmi Kasomwoshi for High Value Fruit Farming Mission, Pamreishang Chiphang for Most Innovative Entrepreneur, Mimi Y Horam’s Hills Piggery Farm for Piggery Mission, Ngashanpam KSV’s Nana Poultry Farm for Poultry Mission, Homhor Zimik’s Ahom Fishery Mission for Fishery Mission and Ramthing Jagoi for Integrated Farming.

The winners, Ram Muivah said were selected based on the merit after spot inspection of their farms. Altogether 57 candidates registered for the Ram Muivah entrepreneurship Awards-2023. Together with the Award ceremony, the day saw a celebration of Advent Christmas with a special musical show. He felt that the event is a platform for him to spread his Christmas greeting and gratitude to his people, well wishers and supporters who has been with him through thick and thin.

The line up of entertainers included the Padmashri Guru Reuben Mashangva, Pakmi Mahong, Oshim Soho among many others.
