EKHON | UKHRUL: St. Joseph College hosted a Felicitation Program to honour the Manipur University 2024 rank holders Khanchuirin Longleng, 2nd rank Department of Economics, Peimichon R Shimray, 5th rank Department of Social Work, Chingri Raleng, 7th rank Department of Social Work and to congratulate all the successful Graduates of 2024.
The event was the culmination of much anticipation and preparation. This eventful day was graced by the Chief Guest Most Rev. Dominic Lumon, Archbishop Emeritus of Imphal.His presence was indeed an added elegance and dignity to the celebration.
The event kicked off with the Welcome song by the Departments of History and Political Science 3rd Sem.Fr Dr Parvis John, Principal, formally welcomed the Chief Guest, all the successful graduates of 2024, the three University toppers and members of the alumni.
The principal expressed gratitude to the Archbishop Emeritus for his presidency from 2015 to 2023, during which the college experienced remarkable growth both in infrastructure as well as in quality and excellence. He acknowledged the toppers efforts and congratulated the graduates with a presentation.
On this occasion the students also expressed gratitude to His Grace Most Rev. Dominic Lumon through Tangkhul Folk song for laying the foundation of higher education in the region which was his dream and vision for the people of Ukhrul.
The day also witnessed the releasing of college magazine EPISTEME 2023-24 by the Chief Guest, Most Rev Dominic Lumon. The Archbishop Emeritus in his speech emphasized the significance of Christianity’s selfless missionary work in education , enlightening spirituality and humanity. He also praised the college’s growth pace both in infrastructure as well as in academia. He lauded the dynamic and qualified teaching faculty for their commitment to bringing forth students with excellence and disciplined upbringings.
The Felicitation hour was commenced by Rinngam Rungsung, Asstt. Prof. Dept. Of History. It was facilitated by the Chief Guest, His Grace Dominic Lumon by bestowing them with a College Memento, Cash prizes and a College magazine to recognise their hard work, diligence and commitment.Jacinta Shimray, Department of English 3rd Sem spoke on behalf of the student representatives congratulating the seniors and the toppers for bringing glory and laurels to the institutions and wished them success in their future endeavours.
Two University toppers, Khanchurin Longleng 2nd rank Department of Economics and Chingri Raleng , 7th Rank Department of Social Work shared their successful stories which inspired everyone that hard work and consistency paid off always at the end. They also shared their success credit to the institute and the teachers. It may be noted that Khanchurin Longleng is the top performer from the entire district in the recently concluded Manipur University undergraduate result 2024. At this event Masopam Kasar, Asstt. Prof. of the Dept. of English and IQAC coordinator, officially introduced the five Alumni Executive members of St. Joseph College, batch of 2018 with H Somung, Asstt. Prof. and Head of the Dept. of Physics, as the Coordinator.
After the felicitation ceremony the atmosphere shifted to a vibrant and extravagant with cultural Show from BA 3rd Semester taking the center stage and a mesmerizing cosplay from Cultural club .Both the items exhibit creativity and innovation of thestudents and left the crowd enthralled. And the dance troupe of St. Joseph College also performed captivating the event entertainment.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by H Somung, Coordinator of the Cultural Club marking the event a successful one.The college extended heartfelt gratitude to the Cultural Club for their excellent efforts for the event and for ensuring a grand success against all odds.
