EKHON | UKHRUL: St. Joseph College, Ukhrul flagged off its Annual College Week on Monday, 9th October 2023 under the theme “Inspire a Generation”. The College Week, the yearly mega festival of the institute which will be celebrated from 9th to 14th October, 2023 had its inauguration programme with KH Sille Anthony, Former Joint Registrar, JNU, Delhi and Former Director HRD, NEC Shillong as the chief guest.
Among the special guests includes Fr. John Besii, Principal, Savio High School Ukhrul; Fr. Yesudas, Parish Priest of St Joseph Parish Choithar; and Fr. Albert Rakesh, VP of Sacred Heart Hr. Sec. School, Hungpung graced the occasion.
Dr. Fr. Parvis John, St. Joseph College Principal welcomed everyone and honoured the Chief guest and the dignitaries, faculty members and the students. The students executed a vibrant performance called “Embracing Diversity” displaying costumes, songs, and dances from 13 distinct communities of India that are part of the community in St. Joseph College.
The chief guest passionately spoke on “Education, Employability, Entrepreneurship,” and in his speech he encouraged the students to “pursue dreams aggressively” emphasising on the importance of acquiring new skills, besides a college degree, to live in this competitive world.

Fr. Joseph Thohrii, Vice Principal proposed the Vote of Thanks and acknowledged the contribution of everyone to make this day possible and making a memorable one.
An enthusiastic crowd of students who were divided into four groups: Stanford, Oxford, Harvard, and Cambridge, named after the most prestigious universities in the world, cheered and encouraged their respective participants as the competitions continued throughout the day.
